About This Content

This Hired Sword is a new Hero-type unit that can be recruited to further customize your roster. The Poison Wind Globadier is available for the Skaven and the Cult of the Possessed Warbands.

Clanrats trained to use the devious weapons of Clan Skryre, Globadiers are sold as warriors to warbands by the Warlock-Engineers. The warpstone gas in the globes can kill or cripple enemies, or prevent wizards from casting spells. Other alchemical gases can strengthen or even heal those exposed to them. These sneaky ratmen even fabricate bombs disguised as wyrdstone to maim the unwary.

The Poison Wind Globadier has access to a unique new set of skills:

Active skills

• Poison Globe: Throws a globe that breaks upon impact on the ground and creates a zone of Poisonous Gas.
• Warp Globe: Throws a globe that breaks upon impact on the ground and everyone in a given area suffers from a random detrimental Warp Effect.
• Enriched Globe: Throws a globe that breaks upon impact on the ground and everyone in a given area suffers from a random beneficial Warp Effect.
• Strangling Globe: Throws a globe that breaks upon impact on the ground and everyone in a given area cannot use spell casting or vocal skills.
• Infused Globe: Throws a globe that breaks upon impact on the ground and everyone in a given area regains Wounds immediately, but also suffers from a random detrimental Warp Effect.
• Vent: The unit opens the valves of its equipment to release a poison gas. Everyone nearby suffers from a reduction of melee and range hit chances.
• Warp fumes: The unit sniffs from its gas tank to increase its Melee Hit chance and Dodge chance.
• Wyrdstone Lure: Places a fake Wyrdstone that explodes and deals Poison damage to approaching units.

Passive skills

• Paralysing Discharge: The unit’s Melee Attacks inflict a debuff that reduces Initiative.
• Invigorating Fumes: The unit inhales fumes that increase his Climb, Leap and Jump down success chances along with Charge and Ambush hit chances.
• Agitation: Every time the unit receives damage, its Initiative increases.
• Potent Globes: All globes thrown by the unit add an extra effect which reduces the Poison Resistance of the victim.
• Dagger Specialist: Increases the chance of bypassing Dodge and Parry of enemies while using at least one dagger.
• Warp Resistance: Increases Wyrdstone resistance.
• Warp Rush: After gathering a Wyrdstone, increases Initiative.

mordheim city of the damned poison wind globadier build. mordheim city of the damned - the poison wind globadier

Cheaper than an actual model but has more effort and more expense put in to it. 10/10 proof that GW is trash.. The Poison Wind Globadier was done right.

+ It adds a unit to the game that feels different (support unit that denies areas)
+ Usable for the chaos fractions which adds to the mixed feeling of the fraction.
+ new, unique skills

- price is a bit high for 1 Unit

Recommended.

. An awesome unit that adds a lot to the game and the playstyle of the factions that can use it. Worth the money.. Do you like playing as Skaven? Do you like the idea of placing AoE that debuff the enemy foolish enough to find themselves in said cloud? What about buffing your own faction? How about debuffing foolish enemies that try to engage you in melee combat? If you've said yes to any of the above then the Poison Wind Globadier is the troop for you.

Being able to deny areas of the map while applying damage and debuffs make these warriors worth every penny. Pesky enemy spellcaster got you down just throw out a choking cloud and watch his spells dry up. As an added bonus throw on some warplock pistols for added range. Don't like guns, well arm it with weapons and watch him apply poison to them.
As an added bonus this troop is immune to many of the stupid traps that seem to plague the streets of Mordheim.

All in all I rate this troop 6 wyrdstone clusters.. Pros:
-Zone control type unit
-Basically Twitch from League of Legends
-Fun new combat options and tactics
-Solid early ranged hero for both factions

Cons:
-Paid content for one hero type
-Immersion breaking - this is the only rat troop available to the Chaos forces
-Generally worse than the smuggler on all fronts

Overall: Like the smuggler, the globadier is a zone control character. However, while the smuggler creates mines that detonate when enemies run over them, the globadier creates poison clouds that damage all who come inside of them. This is decidedly less useful than mines, and the globadier fits less smoothly into the evil faction warbands. For the Skaven, the globadier feels too slow, and for the Chaos forces, he's a rat among mutated humans. Still, he is a solid ranged unit that can dish out the damage early on.

I take issue with paying even a measley $2 for a single unit type, but he is fun. I have a thing for field control, and it's worth unlocking at some point if you enjoy the game at all for the strategies he brings with him.

Bottom Line: Worth it if you like the base game.. They need to make the campaign better.

This is a nice unit...but it doesn't make the game less grindy or pointless.. I really hope they don't start balancing the game around these DLC units. The price feels fair, but locking such a big strategic advantage behind a paywall is pretty scummy.. Seems a great addition to any Skaven crew, and perhaps in some tactical way it would be helpful for CotP, HOWEVER from an RP standpoint a skaven in a CotP crew seems silly and wrong to me. Where's my non-captain chaos spell slinger?. Possibly one of the best hero classes in the game. His ability to create very dangerous choke points makes him well worth the money.. One man chemical warfare unit, what's not to like? Will poison the city gleefully for the Horned Rat.
